Columbus is in Ohio, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Columbus follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A world of flavors under one roof, this is. North Market is one of those places where everyone in your group can find something they'll enjoy. From barbecue and pizza to fresh seafood, international cuisine, baked goods, produce, and specialty shops, the variety is impressive. Walking through the market is an experience all by itself. I decided on Hoyo's Kitchen and ordered the Safari Chicken Bowl. Excellent choice. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were fresh, and every bite was packed with flavor. One visit was enough to put it on my list for next time. The market was clean, lively, and easy to explore. Seating can be a little limited during the busy lunch rush, though. I was able to find a small table, but larger groups may need a little patience before a table opens up. If you're attending a convention, it's only about a 3–5 minute walk from the convention center, making it a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Many choices, there are. Hungry, you will not remain.

We visited this place when we traveled to OH as it is in downtown and we heard that there are many selections for food there from US-Europe-Asia. It is nice to try different kinds of foods from different areas, but the issues are it is hard to find the parking slot when you go there, the foods tasted ok in general, but the line seems too long for food ordering. The market is small, so it makes us feel like it is always crowded for walking and observing for food around.

North Market is a fascinating example of architectural resilience. The original 1876 brick market was lost to fire, and for decades, the market actually operated out of a temporary military-surplus Quonset hut. The current space, a former Advanced Thresher warehouse, was converted in 1995. Unlike the high-vaulted masonry arches of the East Coast markets, this is a clean, industrial warehouse build with a heavy wood-and-steel interior structure. The massive windows provide a level of natural light you rarely find in the older, "fortress-style" markets in Philly or Cleveland. The Experience: It has that classic vibrant energy, especially on the Mezzanine level, which offers a great perspective on the industrial-scale floor plan and the crowd flow. It anchors the district perfectly. The "Poke": I hit Nida's for a bowl, and while the quality of the ingredients was high, the construction was a bit of a miss. It leaned more toward raw fish over a bed of greens/veggies rather than a traditional poke bowl. It’s solid food if you’re looking for something light, but if you’re a Poke purist (like me) looking for that classic marinated-cube-and-rice structure, this iteration might feel a b

I’ve been to Columbus a few times, but this was my first time checking out the North Market downtown. It’s a really cool spot with a bunch of different restaurants all inside one building. You can find everything from ice cream to oysters. Everything I tried was excellent, and the whole place has a great vibe. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
